My name is Johnny Shilton and I am standing for election as your Borough Councillor in Appledore, Ebony, Kenardington, Stone and Wittersham.
I grew up in a rural community and I still live here in the countryside, so I feel passionately about standing up for rural issues and protecting our beautiful countryside, keeping our villages clean and tidy, and supporting our brilliant local businesses.
I have worked in a number of roles that have involved directly engaging with Government at all levels as well as for a leading global international development and sustainability charity and I am excited to use this experience speaking out on behalf of Isle of Oxney residents.
As your local councillor I would vote to keep council tax low, to maintain our essential local services such as regular bin collections and resisting all unnecessary or unsustainable development in our area. I care deeply about protecting our countryside, tackling crime and ensuring that taxpayers receive value for money.
I am delighted to have the support of Cllr Mick Burgess who is standing down after decades of public service.
