Portfolio holder for transportation, highways and engineering, Cllr Brad Bradford, said: “We are delighted to once again offer free parking in Ashford and Tenterden on selected Sundays in the run up to Christmas.

“One of the busiest shopping periods of the year is the festive season and Ashford and Tenterden have a lot to offer shoppers; we encourage residents to support their home town by doing their Christmas shopping locally and help boost trade for our hardworking, home-grown businesses.”

The council hopes this additional seasonal free parking will support our regular free parking offer and attract more visitors into the high street, boost trade for local businesses and make the high street an attractive option for new business ventures.

All car parks run by Ashford Borough Council are free after 6pm all year round. Don’t forget you can park for free in pay and display parking bays in the High Street, North Street and Bank Street after 6pm from Monday to Saturday, and all day on Sundays.
