Ashford Borough Council Elections May 4th 2023

On May 4th, you have a chance to elect your local councillors who will represent you and your community on Ashford Borough Council.

All of our candidates are local people who live in our communities and care for the local area and their fellow residents. We have a proven track record of delivering results for Ashford, Tenterden & The Villages, such as:

Keeping Council Tax low

We remain one of the lowest council taxes in Kent, whilst remaining committed to delivering services that residents can rely on, and a Borough to be proud of.

Recycle, Recycle, Recycle

Thanks to your help we’ve continued to improve our recycling rates year-on-year. Let’s work together to maintain and improve these rates to protect the environment

Fighting Inappropriate Development

We have challenged inappropriate development including taking cases as far as the High Court. We will continue to protect our communities and local environment from unreasonable development.

An Ambitious Economy for Ashford

We’ve supported the expansion of Ashford College to provide further skills and opportunities for young people. With the imminent arrival of Brompton Bikes and Ashford International Studios we’ll continue to build an exciting economy that attracts talent, investment and opportunity.

A Growing Rural Economy

Supporting rural shops and businesses is vital to maintaining vibrant and sustainable communities. By shopping locally, we can help create jobs, stimulate economic growth, and preserve the unique character of our rural areas.

Connected Rural Communities

Reliable internet connectivity is essential for education, healthcare, business, and social connections. We will work with businesses and communities to help ensure that all residents can access the digital tools and resources necessary to succeed in todays connected world.

Community Champions

We will continue to work on what matters to you at Ashford Borough Council, and with other bodies to solve issues such as potholes, water supply, drainage, anti-social behaviour, and crime.

We are proud of what we have achieved so far, but we know there is more to do. That’s why we need your vote on May 4th, so we can continue to work hard for you and make Ashford, Tenterden & The Villages an even better place to live, work, and visit.

Please vote for your local Conservative candidates on May 4th.

Thank you for your support.
